Over that last few years gophers and weeds ravaged our lawn, and we eventually gave up on it. When we decided to start a vegetable garden, the old defunct lawn turned into the perfect spot!

Planting the Veggie Garden
Today we went to the nursery and bought more plants to add to our tomatoes and cucumbers, which are planted in half wine barrels (shown below). We planted borage, parsley, basil, and strawberries. The garden looks wonderful, and we can't wait for harvest time! Next we will finish the bamboo cages and trellises.
